April 23, 2019
The Motif tattoo award event at Alchemy was really fun. I was all about networking and Gansetts and did NOT expect to win anything. Although, Rhode Island has always been home to me I have been working out of state for the majority of my career. Establishing a local client base is slow process and I humbly appreciate the recognition.
Boston Printmakers North American Biennial! August 26 -September 29, 2019
This was a goal that I'm super honored to be a part of. Getting into the show, accompanied by the logistics of framing and delivery are reminders that anything is possible.
The Students Cross
Woodblock Print / Hand made Paper
The Students Cross was drawn true to scale onto a piece of plywood. The excess wood was cut away by using wood carving tools leaving the image itself raised. The board was inked and rolled through a press transferring the image onto handmade paper that was crafted specifically for this project by using shreds of US currency.
The purpose was to reference the ‘big money’ that is hidden in plain sight around issues such as gun control and the influence that special interest groups, such as the National Rifle Association, have on the American political system.
